The Land Memory Bank and Mondo Bizarro Presents
Invisible Rivers
Layering new visions upon the untold histories of familiar places
Battle of New Orleans collage by Monique Verdin
About Invisible Rivers
Invisible Rivers is a collaboration between Mondo Bizarro Productions and The Land Memory Bank that utilizes the creative practices of music, digital storytelling, theater, cultural organizing, curriculum development and boat-building to physically model ideas about how we can learn to live with fluctuation, to live with uncertainty, to live in symbiosis with our increasingly watery world.
Invisible Rivers activates interdisciplinary events that respond to the unique landscapes where they are hosted. No two land activations are the same. The inspiration for this project is part of a natural evolution of the work The Land Memory Bank, Mondo Bizarro and many others have been creating together for years. The creative team for Invisible Rivers has been making art about the environmental crisis we face in Southeast Louisiana for over twenty years.
